Yea, I know….
Didn’t even make the first entry into the WARP contest. Kinda sucks, but life got in the way. There is a really big and really bad situation going on in my family, something I would never wish on anyone, anywhere, EVER.

Yea, pretty insane, isn’t it? It’s always tragic to hear stories of this nature, and I’ve been right in the heart of this situation. Not as a direct player or anything, but in a supporting role. Their son is dating my brother’s ex-girlfriend, the mother of my niece. As of the moment, my family (mom, dad, two brothers and myself) have been taking care of my niece and trying to shield her as much as possible from the hurricane of events surrounding her mom and soon to be step dad. The problem is that every time my niece sees her mom, she comes home with more questions, and I believe she is finally starting to piece some of the story together. She’s only 5, but she’s very smart and she’s figured out that something isn’t right. Last night we had to break down and explain to her that they (the fallen husband and wife) are in heaven and are watching over her (we’re trying to make this impact as soft as possible on her). She cried for a while, she sat silent for a while, and then she had questions. We decided it best to hold off on answering any more questions until we find out what her mother plans on saying to her.
There is a great deal that I don’t understand about life, specifically why we do the things we do. It fills me with sadness to know that this family has been torn apart by such a senseless act of violence. It really makes me wish I could go back in time and climb into his head to see firsthand what he was thinking of, what his state of mind was like. Was this tragedy something that could have been prevented? Had he been crying out for help and no one paid him the least bit of attention? Maybe he simply woke up that day and decided that it was now or never? I suppose no one will ever really know the full story, I just hope for his sake that he had a damn good explination to give his ancestors when he stood before them.
